About Federal Government Employees Housing Authority
The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has been in existence since the 12th of July 2019. It was established under the guidelines of the Executive Order issued by the President of Pakistan for the development and planning of housing schemes. It began as a cell within the Ministry of Housing & Works in 1989, but it later became a guaranteed limited company under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 with SECP on the 26th of March 1990. As a result of population explosion, crowded conditions, aging infrastructure, growth in slums and Katchi Abadi, scarcity of land, and limited budgets, the housing situation in the country has become increasingly difficult. In order to prevent homelessness, it attempts to help federal employees to have a home at the time of retirement or earlier. Mr. Tariq Bashir Cheema is the Chairman and Federal Minister responsible for Housing & Works, whereas, Mr. Waseem Hayat Bajwa is the Director-General of FGEHA.
