About Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission
Under articles 264,265, and 266 of the Government of India Act of 1935, the Public Service Commission came into existence for the very first time as an institution. Pakistani Constitutions of 1956 and 1962 had enacted provisions for the creation of a Public Service Commission that operated under Article 188 and 186, respectively. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission has been created as a result of Article 242 of the 1973 Constitution. Its functions are governed by the KPPSC Ordinance 1978, as amended from time to time. It is charged with the responsibilities of organizing and conducting tests and examinations in order to recruit candidates who are interested in applying for jobs in the public service of the KPK. Candidates are recruited to work in all provincial departments of the Province with basic pay scales of 16 and above or equivalents, and in some departments with basic pay scales of 11 to 15 or equivalents. Ms. Fareeha Paul is the Secretary, whereas, Mr. Ghulam Dastagir Ahmad is the Director Examination of KPPSC.
