Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences commonly known as PIMS is a state-owned hospital and health sciences research institute which was established in the year 1985 to provide free medical treatment to the citizens of Pakistan. This institute is providing multiple medical facilities such as General Surgery, Blood Bank, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Critical Care, Dentistry, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, E.N.T, etc. This institute is also affiliated with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. The medical school and colleges which are affiliated with this institute are the School of Nursing, Federal Medical & Dental College, College of Nursing, and Quaid-e-Azam Postgraduate Medical College. This institute is based on various cardiac centre, children’s hospitals, burn care centre, breast care screening centre, mother & child health centre, and a Hospital which is situated in Islamabad.
