About Punjab Information Technology Board
The Punjab Information Technology Board was formed under the Department of Industries as a public service government agency by the Government of Punjab in the year 1999. PITB was authorized and running under the management of the Information Technology Department of Pakistan from the year 2001 to 2011, but later after the termination of the IT Department, PITB merged into the Planning & Development Department of Punjab. It was established with the vision of monitoring global opportunities to fulfill the growing needs of information technology in order to create an IT industry of international standards. The main focus of this agency is to modernize the techniques of governance in order to promote transparency and digital literacy methods in the province. This organization has successfully implemented innovative technical solutions by reviving the entrepreneurial culture in the Punjab province related to education, agriculture, health, transportation, and law & order.
